In order to address your unique treatment goals in a way that is as comfortable, convenient, and effective for you as possible, I offer counselling in four different ways. Take a look at the descriptions below to see which one might be right for you. If you’re still not sure, that’s okay. Just let me know and we can figure it out together.

In-person counselling happens face-to-face in my office. This is the option that feels most familiar to many people, and that is often preferable for those who feel that they relate best to others when they are in the same room. In-person counselling can also provide a sense of containment and support for particularly emotional issues, as it creates a safe physical space within which to discuss those issues.

To book an in-person counselling session, or to arrange for a free 15-minute preliminary consultation, please contact me and we’ll find a time that works for both of us.

Video counselling offers many of the same benefits as in-person counselling, but with the added flexibility of being able to conduct your session from the comfort of your own home or office. Video counselling is great for those who like to ‘see’ the person they are talking with, but who would find it difficult to get to my office for regular appointments.

Doing counselling over the phone can be an excellent option for those who want flexible and easy access to therapy. Telephone counselling provides a personal, ‘real time’ experience, without any of the technological requirements of video counselling. Working by phone can also create an increased sense of privacy, which can be more comfortable for some clients. If you value the convenience of having your sessions from wherever you are, then telephone counselling could be for you.

Working through secure e-mail can be an ideal choice for some clients. As with telephone and video counselling, e-counselling (as it is called) allows you to relax and to be yourself from the comfort of wherever you choose to be. Because e-counselling is the only kind of counselling that is time-delayed (you would receive my messages within two business days of any letter that you post), it also allows you to write whenever it’s convenient for you. You have the opportunity to digest what we’ve talked about, to try out some of the strategies we discuss, and to consider your reply before sending it. Since our entire conversation is in writing, you also gain a full transcript of your sessions, giving you a handy resource to refer to as needed.
